A garden that makes every visit easier
We designed our secured backyard around the people who live here and the families who come to see them.
Fresh air is care
Time outside lowers agitation, improves sleep and appetite, and gives a restless person somewhere to go. For someone with dementia, a safe place to walk can be the difference between a hard afternoon and a peaceful one.
So we treated the backyard like a room of the house. It's fenced and secured, so residents can go out freely. Smooth, wide concrete paths loop around the lawn for walkers and wheelchairs. And it's beautiful enough that families say it's their favorite place to visit, especially the grandkids.

What you'll find out back

The gazebo
A gazebo with outdoor sofas and lights, shady by day and glowing at dusk. Where residents gather for coffee, music and conversation.

The fountain
A tiered fountain in a brick planter full of seasonal flowers. The sound of water is soothing, and it gives our home its name.

Raised garden beds
Waist-high beds where residents plant, water and harvest vegetables and herbs, a familiar task with real meaning.

Walking paths
Wide, smooth paths for walkers and wheelchairs that loop the lawn, so a resident who likes to walk always has somewhere to go.

A play area for grandkids
A play set and swings so little ones have fun, and visits last longer than ten minutes.

Covered patios
Shaded seating right outside the back doors for residents who want fresh air without a walk.
“Fountain Assisted Living has been a blessing for our family. My wife suffers from aphasia, and finding a place where she would be understood, supported, and treated with patience was so important to us. From day one, the staff has been incredibly kind and compassionate, always taking the time to communicate with her in a way that makes her feel heard and valued. The environment is warm, peaceful, and welcoming—a true home, not just a facility. The team is attentive and patient, and we can see how much they genuinely care. Knowing she is in a place where she feels safe and comfortable brings our family so much peace of mind.”
